
Mumbai: West Indies men’s cricket team etched their name in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup history by amassing a mammoth total of 254/6 against Zimbabwe at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
The two-time champions’ 254/6 in 20 overs is the second highest score in the tournament’s history, behind Sri Lanka’s 260/6 against Kenya in the inaugural edition of the mega event in 2007.
And in the ongoing edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup, Ireland’s 235/5 against Oman in a Group B match on 14 February.

Left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer led the way for the Caribbean team with a 34-ball 85 with 7 sixes and several fours.
Hetmyer, who was at No. 3 on the scoreboard at 17/1 in 2.4 overs, attacked the Zimbabwean bowlers hard and smashed a 19-ball half-century, the fastest half-century of the ongoing tournament.
For West Indies, in the shortest format, Hetmyer scored the fourth-fastest half-century off 19 balls, while their skipper Shai Hope led the list with a half-century off 16 balls.
