
Colombo: Pakistan’s rising top-order batsman Sahibzada Farhan on Tuesday hit a landmark by completing 1000 runs in men’s T20Is.
The 29-year-old achieved the feat during Pakistan’s match against the United States (USA) of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match at the Sinhala Cricket Club (SSC) ground here.
Farhan, who has 969 runs to his name in 40 innings, brought up his 1,000th run in the short international format when he hit Milind Kumar for a huge six off the last ball of the fifth over.
As a result, the right-handed opener became the 10th Pakistani player to score 1000 runs in men’s T20Is, joining the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi.

Apart from amassing the aforementioned milestone, Farhan was instrumental in scripting Pakistan’s strong start as they amassed 75/2 in nine overs after American skipper Monak Patel batted first.
Meanwhile, when this story was filed, Farhan was unbeaten on 48 off 25 balls with the help of four sixes and several fours.
