KARACHI: PSL debutants Rawalpindis have been announced as partial replacements for Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah, who is out of action due to injury.

The franchise management recently confirmed that Shah suffered a side injury during the clash against Karachi Kings.

The team’s medical staff is closely monitoring his recovery and is targeting a return by the end of the tournament, subject to his rehab progress and fitness clearance.

As a precaution, all-rounder Mubasir Khan has been confirmed as a partial replacement for the right-arm seamer.

A final decision on Shah’s participation in the latter stages of the tournament will be taken after further evaluation by the medical team.

Mubasir last represented Islamabad United in the seventh and eighth editions of the PSL. He scored 49 runs in 14 matches and took two wickets.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi have strengthened their bowling by signing New Zealand pacer Ben Sears following injuries to key pacers Naseem and Zaman Khan.

Sears was signed by PKR for 2.5 crores and will make his PSL debut. He brings limited franchise experience in Major League Cricket (MLC) with the Washington Freedom.

At the international level, he has taken 31 wickets in 27 T20Is and ten wickets in four ODIs for the Blackcaps.

Jalad Khan has replaced Zaman Khan, who suffered a dislocation of the acromioclavicular (ACJ) joint in his right shoulder while fielding for Faisalabad against Peshawar in the 2026 National T20 Cup.

Mohammad Rizwan-led Bindis will play their next PSL match against Quetta Gladiators on April 10.
