
KARACHI: Former champions Peshawar Zalmi registered their second win of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Wednesday, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by four wickets.
In the updated PSL 11 points table, Zalmi’s win lifted them from fifth to fourth place. They now have two wins and five points in a wash-out match, with a net run rate of +0.319.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, meanwhile, remain winless after suffering their fourth straight defeat. They languished at the bottom of the table with a negative net run rate of -1.558.

The all-round struggles of the Kingsmen continued as they slumped to yet another defeat, having previously fallen to Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans and now Zalmi.
Batting first, Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne saw his side slump to 145 in 18.2 overs. Peshawar’s spinners Iftikhar Ahmed and Sufyan Mukeem managed the damage in the middle overs.
Hyderabad’s top order offered little resistance: Mas Sadaq 17, Saim Ayub 14, Sharjeel Khan and Usman Khan fell cheaply for two and a golden duck respectively.
Kusal Perera scored 58 runs off 35 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Labuschagne scored 27 runs off one ball with three fours. Irrfan Khan and Hasan Khan were dismissed for nine runs each while Mahesh Deekshana and Hunain Shah were dismissed for a duck.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi worked hard to chase but eventually reached the target in the last ball of the 20th over. Iftikhar Ahmed (15 runs) and Ameer Jamal (6 runs) looked for victory.
Captain Babar Azam top scored 43 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours. Gusal Mendis and Michael Bracewell continued the chase with 27 and 25 respectively.
