LAHORE: The first teaser of the much-awaited anthem of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 was released on Friday, fueling more excitement among cricket enthusiasts ahead of the March 26-May 3 tournament.

The franchise shared a glimpse of the anthem by releasing a 14-second teaser that includes footage from the soundtrack and ends with the message “coming soon.”

Legendary national artist Atif Aslam will be the lead singer of the PSL 11 anthem and will be joined by the Sabri sisters, Aima Baig and Tania Kanwal, the franchise league announced earlier this week.

Aslam, who performed the seventh season anthem ‘Ake Tek’ with Paik, led the competition’s official song for the second time.

The historic 11th edition of the marquee league will see eight teams, including two newcomers Rawalpindis and Hyderabad Kingsmen, compete in 44 matches for the first time in the 39-day event.

According to the recently released schedule, each team will play a total of 10 matches and the top four will qualify for the playoffs, which include Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, followed by the final on May 3 at the Gaddafi Stadium here.

Also, PCB has reserved a reserve day for the final on May 4.

PSL 11 will feature 12 double-headers, three of which will be played at Gaddafi Stadium.

With Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Rawalpindi hosting PSL matches for the first time in Faisalabad and Peshawar, the 11th edition will be played across six venues in Pakistan.

Among the six stadiums, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the highest number of matches (15), followed by Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium with 11 and Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium with seven.

Six matches will be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi and four matches will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium. A one-day match between home team Peshawar Zalmi and Rawalpindi will be played on March 28 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.
