KARACHI: Karachi Kings cited their bowling in the powerplay for their four-wicket loss against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 20th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11th match at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Batting first, the Kings amassed 188/8 in their 20 overs, anchored by Saad Baig’s half-century and Moeen’s 16-ball 44.

Defending 188, stand-in skipper Moeen bowled the first over for the Kings but conceded 18 runs, resulting in the momentum swinging in favor of the Kingsmen who amassed 76 for one in the powerplay.

“We did well to get that score. Our powerplay bowling, starting with me, was not good,” Moeen said in the post-match briefing.

The experienced all-rounder, however, positively noted their resilience, which he said was missing in previous matches.

“Tonight was positive, we showed a fight that has been missing in the last few games. You go with your gut about the bowlers,” Moeen said.

“It can happen. You get three wins in a row, that doesn’t automatically mean you qualify,” he added.

The stand-in skipper insisted the week-long break had not gone well for the Kings as they lost back-to-back matches after three straight wins.

“We had a seven-day break, and it wasn’t good for us.”

Notably, the Kings are set for another significant break as their next match is scheduled against three-time champions Islamabad United at the same venue on Thursday.
