
Peshawar: Half-centuries from Kamran Ghulam and Shahzaib Khan helped Abbottabad chase down a target of 204 runs to beat Multan by eight wickets in the third match of the National T20 Cup 2026 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Opting to bat first in the campaign opener, Multan amassed a mammoth total of 203/6 in 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Moheer Saeed and Muhammad Shahzad.
Mohir scored 76 off 41 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes while Shahzad scored an unbeaten 54 off 26 balls with 4 sixes and several fours.
Wicketkeeper batsman Bismilla Khan made a significant contribution with 45 runs off 30 balls with 6 fours and a six.
Among Abbottabad’s bowlers, Shadab Khan took 3 wickets conceding 35 runs in his four overs, while Shahab Khan and Razaullah chipped in with a scalp each.
Chasing a tough target of 204 to win, Abbottabad piled on the winning runs for the loss of 2 wickets thanks to blistering half-centuries from Ghulam and Shahzaib.
Ghulam top scored for Abbottabad with an unbeaten 95 off 48 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes while Shahzaib scored 52 off 42 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Both added 79 runs for the 2nd wicket.
Ghulam was adjudged man of the match for anchoring the run chase.
For Multan, Hasan Hafeez and Ali Majid can take one wicket each.
An eight-wicket margin helped Abbottabad top the Group B standings of the National T20 Cup 2026, while Multan slipped to the bottom.
