LAHORE: 2020 champions Karachi Kings defeated arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars by four wickets in the sixth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Batting first, the three-time champions could only manage 128/9 in 20 overs as none of them could play big against their arch-rivals Kings.

Abdullah Shafiq was the top scorer with 33 off 24 balls, while wicketkeeper-batsman Hasibullah Khan (28) and all-rounder Sikandar Raza (19) scored other notable runs.

Adam Jamba, Mir Hamza and Moeen Ali took 2 wickets each while Hasan Ali, Salman Ali Agha and Abbas Afridi took one wicket each for Kings side.

In turn, the 2020 champions were chasing a modest target of 129 runs with 6 wickets and 3 balls to spare.

Veteran opener Muhammad Wasim anchored a 37-ball 38 to top the score for the visitors, while Abbas provided the finishing touches by hitting Haris Raoob for two consecutive fours in the last over to contribute 10 runs from two balls.

Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled brilliantly for Lahore Qalandars, claiming 4 wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs, while Mustafizur Rahman and Rauf claimed a wicket each.

A four-wicket haul lifted Karachi Kings to the top of the PSL with 11 points as the former champions now have four points from two matches, while Lahore Qalandars slipped to second place with two points after as many games.

Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators occupy the next three positions with two points each.

Rawalpindis and Islamabad United are sixth and seventh respectively as they both lost their campaign openers, while Hyderabad Kingsmen are at the bottom after suffering defeats in their first two games.
