
KARACHI: Debut franchise Bindis on Friday announced the appointment of former South African all-rounder Justin Kemp as the head coach for the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.
Kemp, who has represented South Africa in four Tests, 85 ODIs and eight T20Is, made the announcement through its official social media handles, sharing an animated poster.
“A top Proteas joins Bindi’s as our head coach! Justin Kemp is here to set standards, shape culture and build something that will last for generations. Welcome to Bindi’s, Justin,” Bindi’s captioned the post.
Bintis will join former South Africa all-rounder Courtney Walsh in the coaching staff as the West Indies legend has been appointed as their bowling coach.
“A giant of the game is coming to Bindi. Courtney Walsh, a Caribbean great and one of cricket’s all-time pace bowling greats, joins The Bindis as our bowling coach! Welcome aboard, sir!” The owner wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Walsh, who represented the West Indies in 132 Tests and 205 in his illustrious career, previously served as the bowling coach of the Bangladesh men’s cricket team and captained the West Indies women’s team.
Also, former Pakistan spinner Abdur Rahman will serve as head of match strategy and assistant coach, while veteran coach Shahid Aslam will serve as performance coach.
On the other hand, former Pakistan player Rafatullah Mohammad has been appointed as the fielding coach.
Additionally, Pakistan batting legend Inzamam-ul-Haq has been appointed as the franchise’s president and mentor.
Notably, the Bindis will begin their PSL 11 campaign on March 28 when they face home side Peshawar Zalmi at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
