LAHORE: West Indies spinner Aqeel Hossain, who will represent Chennai Super Kings in the 2026 edition of the ongoing Indian Premier League, has hailed Rawalpindi’s batsman Dian Forrester from India.
In a video shared on his Instagram story, Hossain praised Forrester for ordering his explosive cameo.
During Mohammad Nawaz’s spell, the batsman scored 24 runs off just 11 balls, including a four and three consecutive sixes.
The Caribbean spinner, who is currently in India for IPL duties, recorded the innings from his hotel room while watching the match. He praised Forrester’s aggressive strokeplay, particularly his ability to repeatedly hit maximums under pressure.
Meanwhile, Forrester’s effort, coupled with a classy half-century from Sam Billings, went in vain as Rawalpindi suffered their fourth straight defeat in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, comprehensively beaten by Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.
Billings’ unbeaten half-century led the Bindis, led by opener Rizwan, to 182 for 8 in 20 overs. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 56 off 34 balls with 7 fours and a six.
He was supported by Kamran Ghulam who scored 35 runs off 24 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Faisal Akram bowled well for Sultans and took 4 wickets for 31 runs in 4 overs. Arafat Minhas took 2 wickets, Muhammad Ismail and Peter Siddle one each.
In reply, the 2021 champions easily chased down the target of 183 runs with 22 balls remaining for the loss of just 3 wickets.
He scored 68 runs off 38 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes.
He was well supported by Josh Phillip, who scored 56 off 30 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, as the pair shared a 110-run partnership for the second wicket.
After their dismissal, captain Ashton Turner and vice-captain Shaun Masood guided the Sultans with an unbroken 47 for the fourth wicket.
