India’s men’s team is set to tour Ireland in late June for a short white-ball series, with two matches scheduled during the visit. Although the format is yet to be officially confirmed, the matches are expected to be played as T20 Internationals.

A joint announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Ireland (CI) is expected soon.

The two-match series will be played between India against Afghanistan and a white-ball tour of England.

Although the exact dates are yet to be confirmed, the matches will take place in the fourth week of June.

The players, coaches and team management were informally informed about the short stopover in Dublin during the recent BCCI awards ceremony in New Delhi.

The tour will be Suryakumar Yadav’s first international outing after winning the World Cup earlier this month.

India’s current commitments include the domestic series against Afghanistan, which ends on June 20 with the final of the four-match series comprising one Test and three ODIs.

The team is scheduled to begin their England tour in Chester-le-Street on July 1, which will feature five T20Is and three ODIs, several days before they arrive in England.

In recent years, India have typically played three matches during tours of Ireland, including visits in 2018, 2022 and 2023.

However, scheduling constraints have limited the series to two games this year. Discussions between the respective boards have been ongoing for months, primarily focused on identifying an appropriate window within an already crowded calendar.

India’s World Cup-winning T20 team is expected to face a 12-month schedule, with the BCCI exploring additional series with confirmed tours to England, UAE, Bangladesh and Japan for the Asian Games.
