Benoni: Captain Fatima Sana produced a brilliant all-round performance as Pakistan cruised to a 53-run victory in the third T20I against South Africa at Willowmoor Park on Monday to prevent a series whitewash.

Despite the loss, the hosts took the three-match series 2-1.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 144-7 in 20 overs as Fatima top-scored with 47 off 30 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes.

The innings got off to a rocky start as openers Muneeba Ali and Gul Feroza were dismissed for a dugout – Muneeba was run out by Karabo Meso in support of Laura Wohlward, while Gul Masabada was sent back by Glass.

Natalia Pervaiz scored 7 runs before being dismissed by Ayabong Kaka, and Alia Riaz added 26 runs off 25 balls with 3 fours to become the third run-out.

On the South African side, Masapada Glass, Ayaponga Kaka and Nonkululego Malaba took one wicket each.

Henri Derksen top scored with 30 off 38 balls including 3 fours and Nadine de Klerk 27 off 30 balls with 4 fours.

Laura Goodall and skipper Laura Wohlward added 11 runs each as the rest of the batting line-up failed to make an impact.
