Harare: Pakistan captain Farhan Yousaf has expressed confidence that his team is ready for the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026 to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6.
Farhan-led Pakistan enter the mega event on the back of a historic ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, for which they defeated arch-rivals India by 191 runs in the final, followed by an ODI tri-series in Zimbabwe, which also featured Afghanistan.
Pakistan then washed-up the first warm-up game against Bangladesh, extending their dominant form in the format with a resounding win against the United States (USA).
Reflecting on his team’s recent success, Pakistan captain Farhan said his players are well prepared to shine at the mega event and they share a strong bond.
He further credited the tri-series in Zimbabwe and the warm-up match against the USA for helping him acclimatise to conditions in Africa.
“The U19 camp in Multan helped us perform well in the Asia Cup and tri-series. The same support staff has been working with us for the past six months and it is paying dividends ahead of the ICC event,” Burhan told PCB Digital ahead of the U19 World Cup 2026.
“We have prepared well for the mega event. The players share a strong bond as we have been together for the past six months.
“The tri-series against USA and the practice match helped us understand the conditions here and we are now ready to do well in the World Cup.”
The two-time champions will begin their U19 World Cup 2026 campaign on January 16 against England in Harare before taking on Scotland on January 19 and Zimbabwe on January 22 respectively.
