
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the commentary team for the 2026 National T20 Cup scheduled to be held from March 7 to 18.
The commentary team for the 10-team tournament includes former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, who also took part in Urdu during the landmark 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) last year.
Bhatt will join former national cricketer Ayman Anwar in the commentary team of Ali Younis, Shah Faisal, Raja Azad and Imranullah.
The 12-day tournament is set to begin on Saturday at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, with 10 regional teams vying for the title currently held by the Lahore Blues.
Defending champions Abbottabad have been drawn in Group B along with Karachi Blues, Multan and Sialkot Region.
The tournament kicks off with two Group A matches: Lahore Whites take on Peshawar at 4:15pm, followed by Faisalabad against Karachi Whites at 9:15pm. Bahawalpur completes the five-team lineup for Group A.
Karachi Blues and Bahawalpur secured their places at the main event by reaching the finals of the 10-team qualifier held in Lahore from February 14 to 24.
Bahawalpur topped their group with three wins from four matches and beat Karachi Blues by 59 runs in the final. Karachi Blues, meanwhile, won all four of their group matches but lost in the final.
Earlier today, PCB announced the cash prizes for the upcoming National T20 Cup 2026.
A total prize money of Rs 8.5 million will be up for grabs, with the winners of the competition receiving Rs 5 million and the runners-up receiving Rs 2.5 million.
The awards for best batsman, bowler, wicket keeper and player of the match are fixed at PKR 100,000 each.
