RAWALPINDI: Bindis unveiled their official team crest with a pioneering art-led graffiti launch at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, heralding an ambitious new era for cricket in the garrison city.
The revelation marks a significant milestone ahead of the historic 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.
Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will take on debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium.
With a clear brand vision to challenge convention, the Bindis position themselves as more than just a cricket franchise. As a comprehensive lifestyle company, the brand aims to create a wide range of sportswear, footwear and a wide range of lifestyle merchandise.
The newly unveiled crest embodies the core identity of the team: dynamic, aggressive, raw and challenging. Central to the design is a dynamic ‘B’ monogram that represents the speed, intensity and explosive energy that defines both the team and its city.
A vibrant orange centerpiece represents passion and competitive fire, while a bold neon green outline injects a contemporary edge. A firm, angular wordmark across the logo reinforces the owner’s confident nature.
Brand architecture rests on four defining pillars: adaptability, mobility, boldness and direction. These characteristics reflect a team that moves with energy, evolves through the game and resonates with the spirit of Rawalpindi itself.
The launch evening brought together fans, media and members of the cricket community for a creative display celebrating the culture and sporting heritage of Rawalpindi.
Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah completed the final piece of graffiti artwork, providing a dramatic climax before the full logo was revealed.
The festivities continued with a spirited bike rally through Murree Road where over 100 bikers and a parade of cars proudly displayed The Bindis colours.
The procession passed through one of Rawalpindi’s busiest roads, drawing enthusiastic responses from cricket fans and the general public, before ending at Mamu Burger and Pappu Soda, two of the city’s iconic food spots.
Speaking at the official launch event of the franchise, the owner of The Pindiz, Mr. Ahsan Tahir shares his vision behind a unique art-led logo unveiling in Rawalpindi and the unveiling of the team’s identity through a biker rally.
He highlighted the city’s deep-rooted connection with cricket and emphasized the franchise’s ambition to evolve beyond a domestic team into a global sporting brand that connects with fans locally and internationally.
“Rawalpindi has always had a special relationship with cricket and the city’s passion is unmatched. With this art-led logo reveal and bikers rally, we want to launch The Bindis in a way that truly reflects the brave spirit of Rawalpindi. Our vision is to create a Bindis team rather than a cricket franchise,” Tahir said.
“We want to become a premium global sports brand with a world-class franchising ecosystem that engages fans year-round. From strong fan and consumer touch points to a growing global fan base and deep connections with the Pakistani diaspora, our goal is to create lasting value through experiences, community, retail products, services and more,” he added.
The team’s identity is further defined by three guiding principles: ambition with purpose, energy that never stops, and courage that is our nature. These values are closely aligned with the character and attitude of Rawalpindi.
With this launch, The Bindis have taken their first step towards building a dynamic cricket brand that is poised to represent the city on an increasingly major stage.
It may be recalled that Wally Technologies acquired the franchise for a remarkable PKR 2.45 billion in a historic auction held at the Expo Center in Lahore earlier this month.
The bidding intensified dramatically when Wally Technologies returned with a stunning offer, prompting CD Ventures to request a strategic deadline.
The franchise, formerly known as Multan Sultans, was put up for auction after previous owner Ali Tareen opted not to renew the ten-year franchise deal following the landmark 10th edition of the tournament last year.
As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has temporarily assumed control, confirming that chairman Mohsin Naqvi will oversee the affairs of the former champions for this historic 11th edition, which will feature eight competing teams.
