Sylhet: Pakistan fast bowler Salman Irshad led Sylhet Titans to a 20-run win against Dhaka Capitals in the 2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Match 18 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Irshad, who started his campaign without losing a wicket against Nogali Express earlier in the tournament, took 3 for 25 in his four overs to help the Titans successfully defend the 181-run target.
His efforts were supported by experienced England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who claimed two wickets, while Ruel Miah, Asmatullah Omarzai and Nasum Ahmed bagged a scalp each.
Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored for the Capitals in a losing run chase with 51 off 44 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes before falling to Irshad in the 13th over.
Earlier, Capitals skipper Mohammad Mithun won the toss and put the Titans into bat. The result backfired as the home side posted an impressive total of 180/6 in 20 overs thanks to a collective effort.
Arif Islam top-scored for the Titans with 38 off 29 balls, followed by Omarzai and Parvez Hossain Emon with 33 and 32 respectively.
Moeen scored 28 off just eight balls with three sixes and two fours.
For his swashbuckling cameo and two wickets, Moeen was adjudged man of the match.
For the Capitals, Ziaur Rahman took 3 wickets while Saif Hasan, Naseer Hossain and Imad Wasim took one each.
The 20-run win lifted Sylhet Titans to third spot in BPL 2025-26 with eight points from 8 matches, while Dhaka Capitals are fifth with four points from two matches.
