LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday issued no-obligation certificate (NOC) to nine national cricketers, including Ihsanullah and Haider Ali, to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26.

A total of 15 national cricketers have been roped in by different franchises for the upcoming edition of BPL scheduled to be held from December 26 to January 23.

Among them, 11 cricketers – Saim Ayub, Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Khan, Khawaja Nafe, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Subian Mukeem, Akif Javed, Mohammad Nawaz and Sahibzada Farhan – were signed directly.

Whereas, four national cricketers – Ihsanullah, Haider Ali, Mohammad Akhlaq and Jahandad Khan – attracted buyers in the players’ auction held in Dhaka on November 30.

Ihsanullah and Haider were included in the Nogali Express foreign players category C, while Jahandad was picked up by Darbar Rajshahi for USD 20000 in the same category.

Aklag, however, was signed by Rangpur Raiders in the Foreign Players’ D Division for USD 10000.

Meanwhile, the PCB has given permission to nine national cricketers to participate in the league which is valid till January 23.

Pakistani players issued NOCs by PCB for PPL 2025-26: Mohammad Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Ihsanullah, Haider Ali, Abrar Ahmed, Khawaja Nafe, Salman Irshad, Faheem Ashraf and Sahibzada Farhan.

This edition of the tournament will feature five teams, down from seven last season.

Dhaka Capitals and Rangpur Raiders remain in the 2024-25 season, while Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet are the three teams undergoing ownership changes.

As a result, Chittagong Kings, Durbar Rajshahi and Sylhet Strikers left the league, making way for the newly renamed Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors and Sylhet Titans.

Defending champions Fortune Parrishall and Khulna Tigers are absent this season.
