Sylhet: Half-centuries from openers Adam Rossington and Mohammad Naim led Dhaka Capitals to a 10-wicket victory over Chattogram Royals in the ninth match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 at the International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a modest target of 123, the Royals easily touched the winning runs without the loss of a wicket with 44 balls to spare as their opening pair of Rossington and Naim dominated the capital bowlers.
Rossington followed up with a top-scoring 60 off 36 balls, while Nyme scored 54 off 40 balls. The former was adjudged man of the match.
Batting first for 19.4 runs, the Capitals were bowled out for just 122 runs in 19.4 overs.
Bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin struggled for the Capitals as he scored an unbeaten 33 off 25 balls.
Apart from him, only Usman Khan (21) and Naseer Hossain (17) took three wickets each as Royals managed to collect double figures against a disciplined bowling attack jointly led by Tanveer Islam and Shoriful Islam.
However, Tanveer was very frugal as he conceded just eight runs in his four overs, while Shoribul conceded 18 runs in 18 overs. Captain Mahedi Hasan took 2 for 34 while Pakistan international Amir Jamal chipped in with a scalp.
The impressive win lifted Chattogram Royals to the second spot in the PPL 2025-26 standings with four points from three matches, while Dhaka Capitals remained fifth with two points from as many games.
