Lahore: Pakistan squad for three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka will be announced soon, according to reports. Jio is super On Wednesday.

All-rounder and vice-captain Shatab Khan is set to be included in the squad for the Sri Lanka series as he has been ruled out due to injury.

Fast bowler Haris Raoup’s name is also under consideration. Rauf was not part of the squad for the recent tour of South Africa and the T20I tri-series, but the selectors are assessing his availability and fitness ahead of the Sri Lanka assignment.

Sources also said emerging opener Mas Sadaqat may be given a chance and pacer Ahmed Daniel may also be included in the squad.

It is also learned that some players will continue to participate in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 15 with the Sri Lanka tour subject to availability and workload management.

The series will begin on January 7 and the remaining matches are scheduled for January 9 and 11. All matches will be held at Dambulla.

Meanwhile, January 7 is the deadline to submit preliminary squads for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Teams are allowed to make changes to their squads without approval until that date.

However, any changes made within a week of the start of the tournament will require the approval of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 8, featuring Pakistan in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, USA, Netherlands and Namibia.
