HAMBANTHOTA: Pakistan captain Fatima Sana on Wednesday expressed her determination to make up for her recent lapses in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in Hambantota from July 23 to 28.
Fatima, who will lead Pakistan in their only ODI series during the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, shared that they are “hopeful” of doing well in the upcoming task and correcting their previous mistakes as they are determined to build on their recent spirited performances at home against Zimbabwe and South Africa.
“We hope to do well here and look forward to correcting our mistakes and building on our performance against Zimbabwe in the previous two ODI series against South Africa,” Sana told Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Digital.
“The objective is to try to build a good ODI unit for Pakistan by making effective use of the talents of the young players and the experienced players,” he added.
The 24-year-old bowling all-rounder also revealed that his message to the players is to play attacking and fearless cricket as per the demands of modern day cricket.

“Keeping in mind Sri Lanka’s local conditions here in Ambandottai, we will fight to the end, deal with pressure situations throughout the length of the one-day tournament and look to stay positive.”
It is to be noted that the first ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota on 23rd July.
