Dubai: England right-arm opener Danny Wyatt-Hodge on Monday won the ICC Player of the Month award for June 2026.
Wyatt-Hodge saw off stiff competition from Scotland captain Kathryn Price and Indian spinner Sri Sarani to claim the coveted honor for the second time in her international career, adding to previous victories in November 2024.
The 35-year-old England opener earned the accolade for her consistent performance in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 302 runs in seven innings at a remarkable average of 60.40 with the help of a century and two fifties.
However, in June, Wyatt-Hodge amassed 287 runs in six matches, five of which came in the Women’s T20 World Cup, at a best average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85.
Her impressive performance earlier in the month was a curtain-raiser to the 12-team tournament against Sri Lanka when she scored an unbeaten 105 to help England post a joint-highest score of 219/1 in the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Danny Wyatt-Hodge expressed his deep joy at winning the Player of the Month award, especially for his individual performances at the World Cup on home soil, saying he would always love the opportunity to play in the final of the mega event at Lord’s.
“I am delighted to win the ICC Player of the Year award, especially coming off the World Cup performances on home soil,” said Wyatt-Hodge.
“The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was a fantastic occasion for the sport and the opportunity to play in the final at Lord’s is something my teammates and I will cherish forever.”
