KARACHI: The shiny trophy for the five-match T20I series between Pakistan and South Africa U19 women’s teams was unveiled at the National Bank Stadium on Monday.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), home team captain Fissa Fiyaz and his South Africa teammate Mike Van Voorst unveiled the silverware at the National Bank Stadium, which will host all five matches of the upcoming series from July 14 to 24.

The trophy has a modern and sleek design, featuring a shiny silver cricket ball on a glittering golden base. The sphere is adorned with three raised gold stitching lines representing the cricket ball, while the elegant metallic finish gives the silverware a premium look.

Pakistan captain Fissa, who was part of the Green Shirts team that won the series 3-2 against Bangladesh in December last year, credited their victory to confidence in the team but acknowledged South Africa as a “quality side”, stressing the need for discipline and consistency in all three fields.

“We are excited to start this home series against South Africa. It is always great to play in front of our home crowd and the whole team is looking forward to the challenge. The players have prepared well and we are eager to put up a strong performance in this series,” Pizza told PCB Digital exclusively.

“Our series win against Bangladesh has given us confidence, but we know that every opposition brings different challenges. South Africa is a quality side, so we have to stay disciplined, recover our skills and maintain consistency in all fields,” he added.
