LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced free entry for fans during its U19 women’s team’s five-match T20I home series against South Africa, which is set to begin on July 14 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
According to the cricket board, fans will be able to watch the action for free from the National Bank Stadium, Karachi’s Zaheer Abbas and Majid Khan Complexes, which will host all five matches of the series till July 24.
“Fans will be able to watch the performance live at the stadium as Zaheer Abbas and Majid Khan envelopes will be opened free of charge for fans,” PCB said in a statement.
The announcement came hours after Pakistan captain Fissa Faiz and his South African counterparts unveiled the trophy for the upcoming five-match series at the aforementioned venue.
Pakistan captain Fissa, who was part of the Green Shirts team that won the series 3-2 against Bangladesh in December last year, credited their victory to confidence in the team but acknowledged South Africa as a “quality side”, stressing the need for discipline and consistency in all three fields.
“We are excited to start this home series against South Africa. It is always great to play in front of our home crowd and the whole team is looking forward to the challenge. The players have prepared well and we are eager to put up a strong performance in this series,” Pizza told PCB Digital exclusively.
“Our series win against Bangladesh has given us confidence, but we know that every opposition brings different challenges. South Africa is a quality side, so we have to stay disciplined, recover our skills and maintain consistency in all fields,” he added.
