Harare: Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Wednesday announced the 15-man squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Bulawayo from July 15 to 19.
According to the cricket board, its selection panel retained the core of the team that reached the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time in the 2026 edition following historic victories over Australia and Sri Lanka.
Although Chevrons lost all three matches at the next stage, their strong performance in the early stages of the 20-team mega-event was widely praised.
As a result, ZC made just three changes to the team that made history at the T20 World Cup earlier this year, with Brendan Taylor and Tony Munyonga missing out, while Graeme Creamer was unavailable due to a fractured left arm.
Ben Curran retained his place in Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup squad as an injury replacement for Taylor.
In another change, top-order batsman Milton Shumba, who made his last appearance for Chevrons in the short format against the Netherlands in T20 World Cup 2022, also returns to the fold.
It is to be noted that the three matches of the bilateral T20I series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will be played at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 15, 17 and 19 respectively.
