Dubai: Australia’s in-form opener Beth Mooney has regained the top spot in the women’s T20 batting rankings, replacing fellow opener Georgia Wall, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the apex committee, Mooney, who was adjudged the player of the tournament for his consistent performance at the recently concluded 12-team mega event, topped the global rankings for the fifth time in his glittering career.

The 32-year-old amassed 238 runs at a remarkable average of 47.60 and a strike rate of 142.51 in the tournament with the help of three half-centuries, two of which came in the semi-final against West Indies and the blockbuster final against hosts England.

Her batting prowess not only earned her the second player of the tournament award at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, but also helped fellow opener Wole to second place with 779 rating points, six less than Mooney.

South Africa captain Laura Wohlward is third with 771 rating points, West Indies’ Hayley Mathews is fourth with 754 points and India’s left-arm opener Smriti Mandana rounds out the top five.

In another big move, England captain Nat Skiver-Friend climbed five places to 16th, while South Africa’s Tasmin Britts climbed three places to 11th.

At the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, Skiver-Friend became the third leading run-scorer of 2026, scoring 227 runs in four innings at an impressive batting average of 113.50.

The England captain was closely followed by Brits, who amassed 225 runs in as many innings, but had an equally impressive average of 75, aided by a half-century and a century against the Netherlands in the group stage.
