LAHORE: Pakistan women’s team captain Fatima Sana will take part in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka before leaving for England to participate in The Hundred 2026, sources said. Jio News On Tuesday.
According to sources, the all-rounder will not feature in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as he is set to join Birmingham Phoenix at the end of the ODIs of the tour.
Fatima recently became the first Pakistani women cricketer to bag a contract in the women’s edition of The Hundred after signing in the Phoenix Wild Card Draft during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Birmingham filled Phoenix’s fourth overseas spot after Lucy Hamilton left to manage her workload.
The Hundred will run from July 21 to August 16, and this year’s edition marks the first season in which private investors have taken partial or full control of the franchises following the sale of group stakes last year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Women are set to tour Sri Lanka later this month for three ODIs and three T20Is, with the ODI series on July 23, 25 and 28 as part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
Fatima is expected to feature in all three ODIs before leaving for England, meaning she will miss the T20I series scheduled for July 31, August 2 and August 4.
For the uninitiated, Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka follows a disappointing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where the Women in Green won just one of their five matches and were eliminated in the group stage.
Pakistan suffered defeats against India, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia, only winning against the Netherlands in the final of the tournament.
