Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday announced the squad for the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which includes Pakistan captain Fatima Sana.

The Green Shirts managed to win only one match in the 12-team tournament which came in the last group-stage match against the Netherlands, with their captain Fatima delivering consistent all-round performances throughout the mega event.

The 24-year-old attacked Pakistan’s bowling in the World Cup and finished with a total of 11 wickets in five matches, coming in at a remarkable average of 11.27. He scored 85 runs in five innings.

Fatima’s best performance in Pakistan’s narrow defeat against South Africa, as she first rescued the green shirts from 50/8 to 126/9 with 55 not out and a spirited bowling effort.

Meanwhile, defending champions Australia, who defeated arch-rivals England in a blockbuster final to clinch their seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title, dominated the tournament with a four-man squad of Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Ashley Gardner and captain Sophie Molineux.

While runners-up and hosts England contributed two players, opener Danny Wyatt-Hodge and captain Nat Skiver-Friend, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp, Sri Lanka’s Nilakshika de Silva, Ireland’s Arla Prendergast and India’s Sri Sarani were named in the playing XI.

Scotland all-rounder Darcy Carter was named the 12th player after scoring 208 runs in five innings at an average of 52.00 and a strike rate of 111.82.
