JEDDAH: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, along with Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation President Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, visited the Cricket Stadium at King Fahad Abdulaziz University on Friday.

During the visit, Naqvi reviewed various areas of the stadium and inspected its enclosures while holding detailed discussions on the proposed changes. He was also given a detailed briefing about the stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the stadium will play a significant role in promoting cricket across Saudi Arabia and pave the way for the Kingdom to host international cricket matches in the future.

“This stadium will contribute a lot in promoting cricket in Saudi Arabia and international events will soon be held here,” Naqvi said.

PCB chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud expressed his gratitude for his continued support.

“I am extremely grateful to Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud for his invaluable cooperation. It is a great honor for the Pakistan Cricket Board to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s remarkable cricketing journey,” he added.

The visit comes a day after the PCB announced plans to build a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Jeddah following the signing of a first-ever strategic partnership agreement with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF).

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation President Prince Saud Bin Mishal Al Saud signed the landmark MoU as part of a wider effort to accelerate the development of cricket in the Kingdom.

Under this agreement, PCB will construct a modern cricket stadium in Jeddah with world-class facilities built to international standards.

The stadium is equipped to meet all International Cricket Council (ICC) requirements, enabling Saudi Arabia to host international cricket matches and major tournaments.

The partnership goes beyond stadium construction as the two boards are set to collaborate on cricket infrastructure development, technical expertise, stadium planning and operational standards.

The initiative aims to support the development of modern and integrated cricket infrastructure across the kingdom.

The project is expected to contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting investment in sports, promoting sports tourism, increasing public participation and improving the quality of life.

The agreement was welcomed by Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, who said the cooperation would extend beyond the construction of cricket stadiums and lay the foundation for the long-term development of cricket in Saudi Arabia.
