LAHORE: The South Africa U19 women’s cricket team will embark on their maiden tour of Pakistan next month for a five-match T20I series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.

According to PCB, the National Bank Stadium in Karachi will host all five T20s of the series, which is scheduled to be held from July 14 to 24, while the match timings will be announced in due course.

The cricket board further shared that the South Africa U19 Women’s team will reach the metropolis on July 10 and begin their preparations for the historic mission the following day at the aforementioned venue.

South Africa’s preparations will continue until July 13 – ahead of the start of the series against Pakistan.

The upcoming series will be an important opportunity for the national team to prepare for the ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup in Pakistan later this year and the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup early next year.

The upcoming home assignment will be Pakistan’s first since they toured Bangladesh in December last year and won the five-match T20I series 3-2.

Earlier that year, Pakistan also participated in the Women’s U19 T20 World Cup and finished fourth.
