Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday released its nominees for the Women of the Month award for May 2026, including Pakistan’s right-arm opener Gul Feroza.

Feroza faces stiff competition from England’s Lauren Bell and New Zealand’s Maddy Green, the other two nominees, who have performed well for their respective teams across formats in the previous month.

The 27-year-old Pakistan opener was instrumental in Pakistan’s 3-0 home ODI series whitewash against Zimbabwe, amassing 256 runs in three matches at a remarkable average of 128.00 and a strike rate of 103.64.

Gul Feroza opened the series with a half-century and then went on to score 100 runs in the match. He completed his homework with another century, not out on 106, and was adjudged Man of the Series.

The right-handed opener scored 82 runs at a strike rate of 157.69 in four T20Is, including 37 off 19 balls against Zimbabwe and 32 off 15 balls against Ireland.

Bell, England’s right-arm fast bowler, was nominated for the prestigious award on the back of his consistent performances across all formats against New Zealand and India.

The 25-year-old led England’s ODI series against New Zealand with five wickets at an average of 13.40 and an economy rate of 4.36 in the three matches.

He carried his form into the T20I series against New Zealand and India respectively as he picked up eight wickets in the four matches at an average of 14 and an economy rate of 7.00.

Similarly, middle-order batsman Green was consistent in New Zealand’s white-ball tour of England last month, during which he played two ODIs and three T20Is.

In the ODI series against England, Green scored 125 runs in two innings at an average of 62.50 and a strike rate of 83.33, while he scored 93 runs at an average of 46.50 and a strike rate of 98.93 in the subsequent three-match T20I series.
