DERBY: Scotland slumped to a second straight defeat against Pakistan in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up matches by 41 runs (TLS method) in a rain-affected encounter at the County Ground on Tuesday.

Batting first, Scotland amassed 187-5 in 20 overs thanks to a brilliant innings from captain Kathryn Price and opener Darcy Carter.

Price scored 94 off 43 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes while Carter scored a solid 45 off 36 balls including 7 fours.

Catherine Fraser added 19 runs off 19 balls and Briannaz Chatterjee made 18 runs off 14 balls not out to boost Scotland’s tally.

Tasmiya Rupab, Sadia Iqbal and Ayesha Zafar took one wicket each for Pakistan.

In reply, Pakistan were struggling to 62-5 in nine overs when continued rain halted play. Scotland were declared the winners under the DLS system, with the replay unable to resume due to incessant rain.

Muneeba Ali Siddiqui top scored for Pakistan with 20 runs from 22 balls including a six while Iram Javed scored 14 runs from 9 balls with 2 fours. Captain Fatima Sana and Alia Riaz remained unbeaten with 12 and one run respectively.

For the Scottish side, Rachel Slater impressed with figures of 2-11 from two overs, while Price, Fraser and Chloe Abel picked up a wicket each.

It was Pakistan’s second defeat in the warm-up after losing their opening match to Sri Lanka Women by nine wickets.

Earlier, Pakistan scored 168 for 8 in 20 overs, Sri Lanka lost just one wicket in 18.4 overs to easily reach the target.

Looking ahead, the Women in Green will begin their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against arch-rivals India Women at Edgbaston on June 14, before taking on South Africa Women at the same venue on June 17.
