London: With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled to be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, captain Fatima Sana has appreciated the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) continued support in developing women’s cricket in Pakistan.

Fatima stressed that consistent strong performances at the global level will significantly raise the profile of women’s cricket in Pakistan, and winning major tournaments is key to increasing public interest and strengthening support for the women’s game.

“If we play well in this tournament, I think people will support us in Pakistan,” Sana said.

He also acknowledged the ICC’s role in promoting women’s design, noting that its efforts have helped create awareness and strengthen the sport in Pakistan.

“I think the ICC is taking a lot of initiatives about women’s cricket, so everyone knows about the game in Pakistan,” she said.

Fatima further highlighted the importance of Pakistan being awarded the hosting rights for the future Women’s World Cup, saying it was a positive development for the growth of the sport in the country.

“Finally, we got a chance to host the next World Cup in Pakistan, which is also a good thing, so I think a lot depends on this tournament,” he concluded.
