LAHORE: During the third home ODI against Australia, Pakistan’s left-arm opener Mas Sadaqat was carried off the field after being hit on the head while walking at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the fourth delivery of the 10th over when Marnes Labuschagne cut Arafat Minhas to deep square.

As a result, Sadaqat, who was positioned at point, ran at full speed and managed to flick the ball back to save a run, but injured himself as his head hit the ground hard and then went into the fence while attempting to field.

21-year-old teammate Shamil Hussain stood outside the boundary as he called for medical help, and after being briefly examined by staff, he was helped off the field around the boundary.

A potential injury adds to the century woes in the ongoing ODI series against Australia as the left-handed opener is struggling to score just 8 runs in two innings.

He scored a cautious 8 off 14 balls in the series opener and fell for a golden duck in the next match as the visitors won by 41 runs at the same venue on Tuesday.
