
Mirpur: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced the 15-member squad for the opening two ODIs of the three-match home series against Australia, scheduled to be played here this month.
The series will kick off with the opening match scheduled to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium here on June 9, followed by subsequent matches on June 11 and 14 respectively.
The team marked the return of all-rounder Mossadegh Hossain to the Bangladesh ODI set-up after a gap of four years, his last appearance for the Tigers in the form against Sri Lanka in May 2022.
Apart from him, wicketkeeper-batter Kwasi Nurul Hasan also returned to the team after losing the New Zealand series. Batters Afif Hossain and Mahidul Islam have both been included in place of Ankon.
The remaining 13 players retained their place in the Bangladesh squad that won the series against New Zealand 2-1 in April, with captain Mehdi Hasan Miraz continuing to lead a consistent unit.
Notably, after the ODI assignment, Bangladesh will also play a three-match T20I series against Australia, which is scheduled to be played from June 17 to 21 at the Pir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lt. Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.
