Alia Allen contributed six as Glasgow were run out for a brisk 36 off 26 balls, including 6 fours. Zaida James added 14 runs as West Indies struggled to score runs.

Ireland’s bowling saw Canning and Arla Prendergast take two wickets each, with Dalzell and McBride claiming one each.

In reply, Ireland’s chase got off to a disastrous start as they slipped to 3/2. However, captain Arla Prendergast produced a brilliant counter-attacking innings, scoring 71 runs off 46 balls, including 11 fours and a six.

Ireland were 99/5 in 14.1 overs when play was stopped by rain in the 15th over. With conditions preventing further play, DLS tied the score at 98 at that stage, giving Ireland a one-run victory.

Prendergast was named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
