Rawalpindi: The weather forecast has been issued ahead of the opening match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia, the first match of which is scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Following the opening match in Rawalpindi, the series will shift to Lahore for the second and third ODIs on June 2 and June 4 respectively. The toss for all three matches is scheduled for 4:00 pm (BST), while the first ball will be bowled at 4:30 pm (BST).

According to forecasts, conditions are expected to be hot and humid, with maximum temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and partly sunny skies.

However, the weather will remain erratic, with isolated strong thunderstorms likely in the afternoon, interrupting the sunshine for a while.

RealFeel temperatures are expected to hover around 30°C, dropping slightly to 28°C in shaded areas. Winds are expected to blow from the south at a speed of 17 kmph with gusts of up to 44 kmph.

There is a 55% chance of precipitation, with about 5mm of precipitation expected in three hours. Thunderstorm activity is also possible, with a 52% chance, with cloud cover near 50%. The UV index is at 7, which indicates strong sunlight at clear intervals.

In the afternoon, isolated thunderstorms are possible with some sunshine. Temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius, although it will be similar in direct sunlight and slightly cooler in shaded areas.

West-Southwest wind gusting to 19 kmph and gusting to 43 kmph. About 2.5 mm of rainfall is expected, with a 55% chance of rain.

Humidity will be 38% and cloud cover will be 53%. The dew point is forecast to be around 14 degrees Celsius and visibility may drop to 8 km.

Australia are touring Pakistan for a 50-over bilateral series, marking their first ODI visit since March-April 2022, when Pakistan won the series 2-1 at home.

Meanwhile, the two teams met earlier this year in a three-match T20I series in January-February, where Pakistan dominated 3-0 in Lahore.
