LAHORE: The 81st Board of Governors (POG) meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was held here on Tuesday to discuss various cricket-related matters and the development of several stadiums in the country, including the Muzaffarabad Stadium.

The BoG meeting chaired by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi through video link approved the second phase of development of Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Stadium to be built in line with the Oval Stadium.

Portraying the cricket board’s commitment to developing multiple cricket stadiums in the country, Naqvi expressed his hope to host Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 matches and international matches at the Muzaffarabad stadium.

“Efforts are being made to host the PSL 11 matches at the Muzaffarabad stadium,” Naqvi told the BoG. “International competitions will also be held there.”

He also promised to build a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad, while BoG members passed a resolution recognizing his role in the continuation of the Sri Lankan men’s cricket team’s white-ball tour of Pakistan in November.

Responding, Naqvi denied taking personal credit for the continuation of Sri Lanka’s tour, insisting instead that it was the result of a “team effort”.

Naqvi said, “The credit of continuing the Sri Lanka tour belongs not to me but to the entire team. We worked hard with sincerity and Allah Almighty helped us.”

“The success of the PSL roadshows is the success of the PCB and the entire PSL team. Everyone worked tirelessly day and night to make PSL an international brand.”

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PSL Salman Naseer also gave a briefing on the PSL Roadshows, while the BoG was briefed on future ICC Women’s and Men’s Cricket Tournaments.
