SYDNEY: The Australian national cricket team has announced a reshuffled ODI and T20I squad for the tour of Bangladesh, with several new faces included due to senior players’ workload management and ownership responsibilities.

Young all-rounder Joel Davies earned his first T20I call-up following the Big Bash League campaign, while Aaron Hardy returned to the T20 side after an outstanding season in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.

Veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been dropped from the Bangladesh T20I squad and will join Steve Smith in Major League Cricket in the US with the Washington Freedom.

Australia’s T20I tour will be without Marcus Stoinis and Matt Short as the selectors continue to test new additions following the team’s early exit from the recent World Cup.

Fast bowler Spencer Johnson has been recalled after recovering from a stress fracture, while Riley Meredith also returns to the T20I set-up after an injury setback.

Left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhneman has been included in all three squads for the tour of Bangladesh from 2021 along with Australian off-spinner Adam Zamba.

Wicketkeeper Josh Phillips has retained his position as back-up gloveman to Josh Inglis after being preferred over Alex Carey in the recent bilateral series.

The Bangladesh tour will consist of a three-match ODI series in Dhaka from June 9 to 14, followed by three T20Is in Chattogram from June 17 to 21.
