Edinburgh: Cricket Scotland on Monday announced the 15-man squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be co-hosted by England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
Experienced all-rounder Kathryn Price will lead Scotland at the mega event, bolstered by the return of left-arm spinner Kirsty Gordon.
Scotland head coach Craig Wallace highlighted the challenge of selecting a squad from a large pool of talented players, but it was a testament to Scotland’s growth and success in the game.
“It was very difficult to pick a fifteen, but it’s a testament to the growth and success of the women’s game in Scotland over the last few years,” said Wallace.
“The depth we have to choose from now is incredible and every choice is interesting, but very difficult. I think we have got a good balance in the squad that we think we need to win this tournament,” he added.
Wallace also weighed in on the depth of the Scotland squad, citing the availability of several world-class players, including Gordon, and expressed his commitment to working with him.
“There are many world-class players in this team and Kirsty is one of them,” said Wallace.
“We welcome her joining the board and look forward to her further raising our standards and helping us improve Scottish cricket. I look forward to working with her and developing her own skills.”
Scotland, who are drawn in Group 2, will open their Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against Ireland on June 13, before taking on the West Indies at Headingley in Leeds on June 18, before also hosting a match against former champions England on June 20.
Their remaining group-stage matches are scheduled to be played against New Zealand and Sri Lanka on June 23 and 26 respectively.
