LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the schedule for the three-match home ODI series against Australia, scheduled to begin later this month.

The Australian men’s cricket team will arrive in Islamabad on May 23 ahead of the opening ODI on May 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The remaining two matches of the series will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on June 2 and 4 respectively. All three ODIs will start at 4:30 PM local time, with the toss scheduled for 4 PM.

Following the Pakistan tour, Australia travel to Bangladesh for the ODI and T20I campaign starting on June 9.

However, many leading Australian white-ballers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are expected to miss the Pakistan series.

Players who fail to qualify for the IPL franchise playoffs can join the squad in time for the Pakistan series.

All-rounder Mitch Marsh and wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis, both of Lucknow Supergiants and Cameron Green of Kolkata Knight Riders, are also available earlier.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings’ Cooper Connolly, Xavier Bartlett and Ben Duvershuis and Chennai Super Kings’ Matthew Short could join the squad instead if their teams qualify for the IPL playoffs ahead of the Bangladesh tour.

ODI captain Pat Cummins, along with fellow fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, are likely to miss the Pakistan or Bangladesh series.

Travis Head is expected to be a priority for Australia’s upcoming Test series against Bangladesh in Northern Australia later this year.

Lucknow Supergiants’ worst run of six defeats could open the door for Mitch Marsh to resume Australia’s ODI captaincy in Cummins’ absence, with Josh Inglis also in contention as a stand-in captain.

The upcoming bilateral ODI series will mark Australia’s first tour of Pakistan in the 50-over format since March and April 2022, with the Men in Green winning the series 2-1.

Earlier this year, Australia toured Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in January and February, where the hosts completed a 3-0 clean sweep at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Australia also visited Pakistan during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, beating England by five wickets at the same venue on 22 February.

Series schedule (all matches start at 4:30 PM local time):

  • May 23 – Australia arrives in Islamabad
  • May 30 – First ODI, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • June 2 – Second ODI, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
  • June 4 – Third ODI, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
