LAHORE: All the tickets at the Gaddafi Stadium for the ongoing 11th Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) final between former champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen are completely sold out.
An official announcement was made on the league’s social media platforms.
“Sold Out by Zinda Dilana Lahore – It’s House Full for Grand Finale,” read the post’s caption.
The much-anticipated final will be between 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Zalmi booked their place in the final after beating Islamabad United by 70 runs in the qualifiers, while Kingsmen, who finished fourth in the league stage, stunned Multan Sultans and then three-time champions Eliminator in the eliminators.
The two teams met earlier in the league stage, where Zalmi faced off in a thrilling contest by four wickets in the final ball.
For the uninitiated, this marks Zalmi’s fifth PSL finals appearance under Babar Azam, while the Kingsmen have created history by reaching the finals in their first season.
In their previous encounter, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 145 in 18.2 overs, with Gusal Perera top scoring with 58 off 35 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 27 runs off as many balls.
Sufyan Mukeem and Iftikhar Ahmed took four wickets each off Zalmi’s bowling.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi was tested by a disciplined Kingsmen attack but successfully chased down the target with the final ball of the innings.
Captain Babar Azam scored 43 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours, while Gusal Mendis and Michael Bracewell added 27 and 25 runs respectively.
