LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi’s mystery spinner Sufyan Mukeem was crowned Man of the Match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 for his consistent bowling performance throughout the exciting season.

Mukeem, who won the Fazal Mehmood cap for leading wickets with 22 scalps in 11 innings at a remarkable average of 14.40, was also adjudged the player of the tournament for his impressive performance throughout the season.

“My individual performance was good and the team’s performance was good,” Mukeem said in the post-match presentation.

“I have worked very hard on my bowling. It is written in the stars to be named the best bowler and I am very happy about that. Individual awards are very important for a player,” he added.

On the other hand, his skipper Babar Azam amassed 588 runs in 11 innings at a mammoth average of 73.50, eclipsing Hanif Mohammad Gabe as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, despite going toe-to-toe in the final.

Babar, who won his first PSL trophy as captain, was also adjudged the best batsman of the tournament.

The 31-year-old enjoyed a dream campaign with the bat as he equaled Lahore Qalandars’ Faqar Zaman’s record for the joint-most runs in a single edition of the marquee league with the help of two centuries and three fifties.

Also, their teammates Farhan Yousuf and Gusal Mendis won the Best Fielder and Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament respectively.
