LAHORE: Pakistan men’s cricket team’s all-format tour to Bangladesh may be scheduled in a different window to accommodate the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), sources told Jio Super on Sunday.

As per the Future Tour plan, the Green Shirts were scheduled to tour Bangladesh in March-April next year for a full-fledged tour that would include two ICC World Test Championship (WTC) matches, three ODIs and several T20I matches.

However, earlier today, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that the historic 11th edition of the marquee league will be held from March 26 to May 3.

Due to the scheduling conflict, a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source has insisted that its men’s team’s home series against Pakistan will be shifted to a different window and that the number of matches will not be reduced under any circumstances.

“The series will be rescheduled,” a PCB source said. The two cricket boards are currently in discussions.

“The number of matches will not be reduced under any circumstances. The appropriate window is being approached and will be announced soon.

“The ODI or T20I matches may be rescheduled for the ODI series. An official announcement will be made soon after consultation with the PCB.”

The development comes as the PCB is currently canvassing international investors interested in two new PSL franchises up for sale.

As part of a global outreach strategy aimed at engaging with international investors ahead of the auction, the cricket board held two roadshows at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and New York.

Notably, the PSL, which started with five franchises in 2016 and later expanded to six sides in 2018, has further expanded with the addition of two new teams from its upcoming 11th edition to be played next year.

With the upcoming additions, PSL will undergo its first major overhaul in seven years, bringing the total number of franchises to eight.
