Dubai: Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Ahmed Hussain impressed with his fielding skills during the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 match against arch-rivals India at the ICC Academy on Sunday.

Ahmed, who scored a match-winning century in the campaign opener against Malaysia at The Sevens on Friday, pulled off a sensational catch in the 20th over of India’s innings to showcase his fielding prowess in the ongoing tournament.

Left-arm spinner Niqab Shafiq bowled a length delivery outside the off stump which Vedant Trivedi looked to cut but could not find the gap or ground the ball.

The ball flew to Ahmed, stopped at short third man, who dove to his right to pull off a sensational catch.

Delighted at the breakthrough, Ahmed’s teammates ran towards him and surrounded him to applaud his effort, which helped Pakistan reduce India to 113/4 in 19.5 overs.

Meanwhile, as this story was filed, right-arm fast bowler Abdul Subhan’s double strike saw the Men in Blue slump further to 174/6 in 31.3 overs.

The right-arm pacer caught middle-order batsman Abhiyan Kundu off the first delivery of his eighth over and backed it up with the prized scalp of India mainstay Aaron George, who scored 85 off 88 balls with 12 fours and a six.
