LAHORE: Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana has not applied for a no-obligation certificate (NOC) to rejoin the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, sources have confirmed, as he is in doubt to return to the ongoing tournament. Jio is super On Wednesday.

Rana, who represented Peshawar Zalmi, was initially given NOC till April 13 by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

However, after being called up for national duty, he returned home along with other Bangladeshi players who featured in the PSL.

Although Rana was included in the ODI squad against New Zealand, he was not selected for the first two T20Is. Sources also said that the PCB is planning to give him rest to prepare for the Test series against Pakistan.

The two-match series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27, will begin with the first Test scheduled from May 8 to 12 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

The second Test will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Ground from May 16 to 20.

As part of the workload management strategy, Rana has chosen not to request a new NOC to continue playing in the PSL. The right-arm pacer featured in four matches for Zalmi, picking up seven wickets at an economy rate of 5.42.

If Rana had submitted the request for NOC, the BCB would have reviewed the situation before taking a decision, the sources added.

In a related development, fellow Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman was granted NOC in two phases.

He was cleared for the PSL till April 12 and has received the NOC since April 24, following the ODI series against New Zealand.

Mustafizur, who represents Lahore Qalandars in the PSL, will be with the franchise till May 3.
