
LAHORE: The disappointing performances continued as Karachi Kings registered their fifth straight defeat in the ongoing Pakistan Super League PSL 11 after being crushed by Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.
According to the updated PSL 11 points table, the Kings are seventh with six points from eight games with three wins and five losses and a net run ratio of -1.292.
Peshawar Zalmi has continued to show its dominance in the ongoing tournament as they are unbeaten with 8 wins from nine matches, a match tally of 17 points and a net run rate of 2.645.
Multan Sultans sit second with 12 points and a net run rate of 0.545 with 6 wins and two losses from eight games and will qualify for the playoffs after registering a win over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the double-header on Wednesday.

Although Zalmi’s decision to bowl first appeared to be the wrong call, it is pertinent to mention that it turned out to be a good decision for Karachi Kings as paceman Ali Raza’s hat-trick in the last over restricted Karachi Kings to 182-9 in 20 overs.
Opener Jason Roy scored 85 off 51 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes while Azam Khan scored 35 off 19 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Zalmi, who batted in reply, lost 3 wickets in the 19th over with Gusal Mendis and Farhan Yousuf’s brilliant batting to seal the victory.
Farhan Yousuf remained unbeaten on 54 off 35 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes and Gusal Mendis scored 80 off 43 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
