LAHORE: Karachi Kings have added one to their squad for the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 by signing leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood.
The Karachi-based franchise confirmed the move in an official statement, highlighting the veteran bowler’s ability to make breakthroughs in the middle overs.
Mahmood, known for his sharp turn and deceptive googly, has earlier represented the Kings in the 2024 and 2025 editions of the tournament.
“Karachi Kings add one to PSL 11 surviving squad. Zahid Mehmood is back for Kings and ready to weave his magic in blue and red,” the post captioned.
His ability to deliver breakthroughs in the middle overs is expected to be a key asset for the franchise as the tournament enters its business end.
The 38-year-old has been a well-known figure in the league, representing several sides over the years, including Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, along with his spells with the Kings.
During the ninth edition of the tournament, the 38-year-old played six matches for Karachi, picking up eight wickets, while his overall PSL record stands at 15 wickets in 15 matches.
The Kings are currently in a tight midfield battle, with six points from seven matches with three wins and four losses and a net run-rate of -1.368.
Kings face Peshawar Zalmi in their next match at the Gaddafi Stadium, looking to improve their position in the table.
Karachi Kings will hope the addition of Mahmood will add control and wickets in the middle overs as they push for a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
