KARACHI: Defending champions Lahore Qalandars recorded their third straight win in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, defeating Rawalpindis by 32 runs at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Following the result, the updated PSL 11 points table shows Gulanders moving one place above Karachi Kings.

They now have three wins and four losses from seven matches, collecting six points with a net run rate of -0.634. Rawalpindi’s, meanwhile, are bottom of the table with seven consecutive defeats, zero points and a net run rate of -1.796.

At the top, Peshawar Zalmi continue to dominate the table with six wins and one drop, amassing 13 points and a net run rate of 2.404.

Islamabad United are second with four wins, two losses and one wash-out match, earning nine points with a net run rate of 1.481.

Shaheen Afridi’s decision to win the toss and bat first paid off as Lahore Qalandars staged a strong comeback, posting 210-4 in their 20 overs.

The innings was built around half-centuries from openers Mohammad Farooq and Faqar Zaman.

Zaman top scored with 84 off 54 balls with 11 fours and 1 six. Youngster Farooq scored 63 runs off 41 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Abdullah Shafiq scored 26 runs off 18 balls including a four and 2 sixes.

On the bowling side, Razaullah and Mohammad Amir controlled the opposition with two wickets each.

In reply, the Rawalpindis were restricted to 178-9 in 20 overs, suffering their seventh straight defeat of the tournament and officially being eliminated from the tournament.

Yasir Khan top-scored with 58 runs off 29 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes, while Saad Masood added 54 runs off 26 balls with 9 fours and a six.

Haris Rauf led the bowling for Lahore with three wickets for 43 runs in his four overs. Shaheen Afridi and Usama Mir took 2 wickets each while Daniel Sams and Sikandar Raza took one wicket each.
