Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) has extended the no-holds-barred certificate (NOC) to two cricketers participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11.
The NOCs of fast bowlers Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam have been granted a one-day extension, allowing them to stay in Pakistan for one more match.
The decision follows demands from both PSL owner Peshawar Zalmi and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Initially, the BCB had issued NOCs to both the players till April 12. However, they will now be allowed to stay in Pakistan till Peshawar Zalmi’s match on April 13.
Nahid and Shoriful are expected to join the national ODI squad on April 14. The team is currently preparing for the series against New Zealand.
Bangladesh’s new selection panel, led by Habibul Bashar, recently announced an unchanged 15-man squad for the first two ODIs against New Zealand, retaining the same squad that won the home series against Pakistan 2-1 last month.
The opening two matches will be played in Dhaka on April 17 and 20, while the third ODI will be played in Chattogram on April 23.
As already confirmed, Mehdi Hasan will continue to captain Miraz.
Despite the team winning the series, questions remain over the form of Saif Hasan and Afif Hossain. In three innings against Pakistan, they averaged 17.33 and 19.00 respectively.
