
KARACHI: Former champions Multan Sultans have given star opener Sahibzada Farhan and batting coach Sohaib Maqsood a few days off ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match against Peshawar Zalmi on April 13.
A Multan Sultans spokesperson said that as per the policy of team owner Gohar Shah and coach Tim Paine, players are given full freedom to relax and spend personal time during their free time.
Notably, Farhan has been impressive with the bat so far in the ongoing tournament and is currently the leading run-scorer with 232 runs from five games at an average of 58.00 and a strike-rate of 181.25, including a half-century and a century.
Overall, the right-handed batsman has represented four PSL teams namely Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and is currently lined up for Sultans.
He has amassed 1,138 runs in 39 matches at a strike rate of 141.54 with 7 fifties and two centuries.
Meanwhile, Ashton Turner-led Sultans currently sit at the top of the PSL table with 11 points with four wins and one loss from five games, eight points and a net run-rate of 0.941.
Their most recent wins came against Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindi on Sunday and Monday respectively, which put them at the top.
The team’s remaining matches include a match against Karachi Kings on April 19, a match against Rawalpindi on April 21, a match against Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 22 and the last league-level game against Islamabad United on April 26.
